NEWS about the blog

I have decided to go ahead and purchase a domain along with adding a wordpress blog to it. I am in the process of working on the website, making choices, and trying to get a few questions answered. Hopefully come January 1, I can go live with the new website and blog.

I will keep everyone up to date as I can over the next few weeks. I will post as soon as I can the new link for you all to visit to be able to read my blog.

I will be updating all my accounts for various things with the new website info as soon as I can.

Secret Santa Gift Swap 2012 Reveal

I participated in the "Its Giving Season Gift Swap" over at @ Messy Dirty Hair & Jana @ perceptioniseverything & Tabitha @ my-cliffnotes.

I was the Secret Santa for Sara @  Miss V's Busy Bees. Sara, I hope you liked everything you got. I was kind of stumped at what to get for you but I enjoyed bringing you some holiday cheer.


 I got my gifts from my Secret Santa and I wanted to share with you.

My sweet secret sister got me a some bath & body works bubble bath/shower gel in Japanese cherry blossom, a foot scrubbing brush, a loofah, a candle, and some peppermint Hershey kisses. It all came in this cute little snowflake bag.

Thank you secret sister! I absolutely LOVE everything and my kids enjoyed the Hershey kisses with me. :)

Miscellany Monday- Christmas Things

It has been a while since I particpated in a Miscellany Monday, so I thought I would jump in this week.

1. I am looking forward to one last week of quiet during the day till my kids are back to school on Jan 2nd.

2. I am looking forward to some quiet time with the hubby during Christmas since the kids will be with grandma for a few days.

3. I am looking forward to seeing the kids open their christmas gifts.

4. I am looking forward to our Christmas eve tradition of watching Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer & other claymation movies. Then we we read the story about Jesus and his birth, the whole real meaning of Christmas.

5. I am looking forward to our Christmas morning tradition of cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. Then we open presents. We are having my parents over here this year since we are home for the holidays this year. So we are having turkey & dressing, yams, pumpkin pie, deviled eggs made by my mom, rolls, I may make some salad too. We will see how things go on Christmas morning.

6. I am also looking forward to spending time with my family especially with what has been happening recently.

Domain name in the future..

For those new to my blog, I plan to do a domain change as soon as this one is close to renewal.  My reason is that once July 1, 2015 comes around, I will no longer be a military wife. I will be a retiree wife. But 2015 will be bringing lots of changes for my family and I want to go ahead and start making plans now for those changes.

We will be moving from North Carolina down to Florida. We will be leaving my parents and joining his down in Florida along with his siblings and their kids.

I am an only child, so once my mom and dad2 aka stepdad are gone, I will not really have any family left that I really count. So when we were deciding where we wanted to retire, we at first chose Texas. That is where he calls home for the most part. But since we both would have no close family there, we decided it would be better to move to a place where we had family we could rely on.

So with all that said, I plan to make changes sometime next year.  I am still debating on the domain name and all that comes along with it.

The blog will still be about my family, I will share the link with my parents *shudders* lol,  I will talk about the changes, as well as posting pictures.

Time to play catch up..

I have missed so much over the past few weeks with school being so hectic with project after project. So I am taking this "break" as a time to catch up on all of your blogs. I may or maynot comment on all of the posts since I know that getting comments on old posts are kind of annoying at times.

I am hoping to do a video blog next week while Hubby is at work and the boys are at school. I just hope the dog cooperates and leaves me alone while I do it. LOL

I really need to get better about blogging because I want to build friendships with my readers. Blogging is such fun thing to do, when you do it on your own terms instead of what is expected of you.

Nothing seems as important anymore...

After yesterdays tragic news, nothing seems more important than spending time with those you love.  Life is too short, we are only given a specific amount of time on this earth, and I want to enjoy every last second of it.


I will bask in the laughter of my kids more.
I will  watch more movies with my kids.
I will have more tickle fights with them.
I will hug them even tighter every day.
I will kiss them good morning and good night.
I will continue to thank god for each precious day he gives me with my family.

I do not want to take even a second of the precious time I have left on this earth, worrying about the piddly crap anymore.

As hard as it to even fathom what the families are going through, I want to think of all the new Angels God has watching over the world.

My heart is breaking for the families of those lost today in CT.

My heart is literally breaking in to a trillion pieces for the families of the children and adults that were lost today.My prayers go out to their families in this tragedy.

Violence is everywhere. We cannot get away from it. This makes me so mad that innocent blood was spilled today.

I am going to be holding my children tighter than ever tonight as I know most of the other parents around the world will be doing as well.

May those lost rest in peace, may their families be able to weather this tragedy and the light shine from the souls of those lost.

Greetings from "School's over" land..... LOL

Well it is over for the semester that is.  I turned in my "final exam" for family law yesterday. It was the last final for me. It was a project. Basically we had to do a divorce for a fictious couple. We had to choose which side we were on. Then help "our" client.

I am honestly scared that I did not do well on it because it has been so long since I have done anything case related that I feel so rusty in whatever skills I may have learned at my old school.

I know I have a B- in English 102, and I am super stoked about that because writing grammatically correct is really hard for me.  I also know that I have an A in the "reading" class I had to do for 1 credit as a core requirement since I am probably one of the only students that actually read every book that we were assigned.

Anyways, I am in the middle of starting the getting ready for hubby's squadron Holiday party process.  I decided to pamper myself and had a nice bubble bath thanks to my Secret Sis. :)

I even gave myself a little pedicure too.

I definitely needed the pampering since this past week has been a real stresser for me. I am awaiting grades, I really won't know anything until sometime next week. I am so scared guys.

Well I better go start blowdrying this ole mop of hair so I can look cute for the hubs. Have a good one and I promise to write again soon. :)

Last day of class for the Fall Semester of 2012

Today was my last day of the fall semester. Today was not a good day at all.  I had two test and I fear I did poorly on both. My head was just not in it. So I am praying that with the revamp of my english research paper I am doing and my project I have to do as my final that it will knock her socks off to bring up my grade.

My College Algebra class, I am pretty sure I failed it. I have not done well on any of the quizzes or test. I don't know if it is because of the instructor or what. Once I take that exam and then find out my final grade, I praying that God is looking down on me and whispering to my instructor to pass me but if I fail then so be it.

I will just take this next semester to get tutored on everything and then pick a new instructor for the fall.

Now comes all the finals. I am taking tonight off from doing anything but putting a a piece of my project together. That is the only school related thing I am doing. Tomorrow will be a busy day with studying, taking our dog Bones to the vet for her kennel cough booster shot, and going to a parent -teacher conference for the oldest. I also have to swing by the school to support my fellow Political Science friends who are giving their senior seminar presentations and then go back to school for my visit with the writing center.

I will say that this term has definitely blessed me with some new friends that I will treasure. Well I need to finish up a few little tasks on the computer and then it will be time to cuddle with the hubby and watch NCIS.

Quick update...

I have two days of school left. Then I have exams.  Plus I have  a stinkin' cold. :( So I am not feeling all that cheery right now. We haven't put up our tree yet, and probably won't till closer to Christmas since we really do not feel like having it up for a long time.

I am in the middle of working on a project for my English class.  I also have to work on my research project, study for two tests, work on other projects. I am so busy and I am hoping to have some time to rest.

Hopefully over the Christmas break I can get some new blog posts up and even some with pictures when my christmas present from my hubby. :)

It's the day after thanksgiving..

I wanted to drop by and make a quick post before I force myself to do some schoolwork. I have been gone all afternoon and this morning I was not feeling like messing with school work. So here I sit trying to get this entry typed up right quick.

My thanksgiving was nice. The family and I drove up to my mom and dad's house. My aunt and her boyfriend got there shortly after we did.

My dad did the turkey in an oil-less fryer. Everyone but me ate some of it. I just did not feel like eating turkey so I had a little ham instead.

I did not eat as much as I normally do on Thanksgiving.

The boys stayed with my parents and we will pick them up on Sunday. The hubby and I are having a date weekend.

Today we went to see the new James Bond movie Skyfall it was really good.

Well I better get to the school work,so I will check back in soon. :) 

Planning..

I like to plan things. I like knowing what  I need to do so I can get everything marked off my to do list. But here lately I have not been very good at planning. So I am sitting here on Monday evening, writing this post for Tuesday.  I need to seriously figure out a good plan for balancing everything in my life.

I know I probably talk about this a lot here, but this is something I am really struggling with at the moment.  Anyways I think I am going to go study some more since I have a huge Algebra test today.

Cross your fingers that I do well please.

Notes for my Secret Santa

I thought I would take a moment to tell my  "Santa" a bit about me.

I am a college student.

I have two boys. I have a dog and a cat. I love to read. I mainly read legal thrillers and my favorite authors are Patricia Cornwell, Lisa Scottoline, James Patterson, Kathy Reichs.

I love the following tv shows: Bones, Criminal Minds, Vegas.

I love taking bubble baths, shopping, making jewerly.

I am allergic to things with cucumber, broccoli or bananas.

I love candles.

I love turtles and Buddhas.

Dear Veterans......

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of the veterans in our great country and nation.  Many of my family members have served in the various branches of the military and I am proud of them.

I am proud of ALL of OUR Veterans!

I am proud to be married to a Veteran.

So I want to say a big Thank You!

Your sacrifices will not be forgotten. Your willingness to fight for our country will not be forgotten.
We are blessed as a country to have you all on our side.

What am I?

I am sitting here in my living room with a glass of water and a slimfast shake for my breakfast. My biggest mission of the moment is "Operation keep the kids and animals quiet". The hubby is trying to sleep in but I do not feel the mission is going successfully at all. I love my kids. I love my hubby. I love my pets. But trying to keep four of the five quiet so one can sleep in is nerve racking to say the least.

I am trying to find my zen moment and boy is it being elusive as the lottery we hope to win at some point.

So back to the subject line...: What am I?

I am a Wife.
I am a military wife.
I am a mom.
I am a daughter.
I am a grand daughter.
I am a sister-in-law.
I am a college student.
I am a friend.
I am a volunteer.
I am a blogger.
I am a tweeter.

What I am not:

Perfect.


I do my best with everythingI do, sometimes things get left undone on any given day. My to do list is never complete no matter how hard I try. I tend to stretch myself thin wanting to do everything and be everything to everyone. But I just can not do it anymore. My health has to be a priority instead of putting it last on my list. I need to take care of myself more so that I can be there more for my family without the stressed or the cranky attitude because I am stretched so thin.

I have realized that I am not as organized as I thought I was. So one of my projects over the next few months is to find a better way to organize all my duties, assignments, and time because I really need to be the real me instead of the cranky one.

Feeling Disconnected from Blogging & Twitter

I know that I have not been that active at all on the blogging front, let alone twitter. I am trying to figure out a good way to stay connected with those of you who read my blog, my tweets, and vice versa.

I just do not know how to do it all. I feel like a failure at times, but I know that I have to put forth the effort and time if I want to reap the rewards.

I know that my parents never told me life was easy.  But life intermixed with college, mom, wife, volunteer, blogging, and just being me is tougher than tough.

I have some stuff to do like :

•  write an english paper,
• a response paper on a book I  read,
•  I have to finish said book,
• I have to read another book and do a response paper on it,
• I have do some work book exerciese
• Study for exams
• Study for tests

But for now I think I will just bask in the glow of having watched a movie with my hubby that has been on our to watch pile for a while.

Day 5 of Thanks for November

Dear November, I am thankful for the roof over our heads, the food in our bellies, and the time we have together each day. No matter how annoyed I get with the family (including pets) I still wouldn't take any money for any one of them. Love & Smiles are stronger than money, even though money does make the world go around.

I have a few things to do before I get to campus and then I have a meeting before my first class. I am definitely glad I only have two classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.

I am crossing fingers, toes, and anything else I can manage to pop by again tomorrow for another post.
